A five-member
delegation from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, led by Hans
Jacob Frydenlund , which also included the Norwegian ambassador
to Ethiopia, arrived in the country yesterday.
The delegation
is reportedly in the country to met the Somali government
and familiarize itself with political developments in the
country.
The delegation
later held talks with Hasan Abshir Farah [minerals and water
resources minister], Husayn Elabe Fahiye [national planning
minister] and the deputy interior minister.
The government
officials called on Norway to assist in Somalia's reconstruction
efforts.
Prime
Minister Ali Khalif Galayr hosted a luncheon in honour of
the visiting delegation and appealed to the Norwegian officials
to fully support the transitional government.
