Mogadishu
faction leader Muse Sudi Yalahow and other politicians from
his Mudulod sub-clan are reportedly planning to set up a new
political party.
A source
close to the faction leader told the Qaran newspaper that
the politicians, who are willing to collaborate with Muse
Sudi Yalahow in setting up the new party, include Shaykh Mudey
Ga'al, Eng Muhammad Husayn Adow, Col Umar Aw Ali (Fiyaasko)
and other prominent personalities who are not members of the
Somali transitional parliament.
Members
of the proposed political party have reportedly been discussing
the matter. Some officials proposed the adoption of the already
existing USC [United Somali Congress]/SSA [Somali Salvation
Alliance] name but no consensus was reached on the issue.
Muse Sudi
Yalahow and other politicians have been holding intensive
consultations in Madina District, Mogadishu, in the past few
days with the aim of reaching consensus on the name of the
proposed new political party.
The plan
to set up the new party follows a serious disagreement that
emerged between faction leaders Muse Sudi Yalahow and Husayn
Muhammad Aydid during the setting up of the Somali Restoration
and Reconciliation Council in Ethiopia recently.
