UAE RCS delivers relief assistance to Yemen !

Abu Dhabi, Feb.26,2003 (WAM),
By Banadir.com

The UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS dispatched here today to Yemen a cargo of humanitarian assistance, including a large quantity of clothing, donated by a philanthropist. The items, to be delivered to the Yemeni Brotherhood and Sufferings Charity Organisation, is to boost the organisation's programmes by helping it to provide for its increasing number of beneficiaries of its unique services.

According to Saleh Mohammed Al Mulla, Assistant Secretary General for External Affairs at the UAE Red Crescent Society, which is delivering the cargo, the assistance was part of the RCS' humanitarian programmes, aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the poor in that sister Arab country.

Mr Saleh M. Al Mulla added that the RCS, through its local office in Yemen, was exerting great efforts to help improve the health condition of the poor by supporting the Yemeni Ministry of health in its programme to combat diseases and epidemics like Malaria. Al Mulla expressed gratitude to the donor of the cargo of goods, saying that the support of philanthropists, goes a long way to boost the work of the RCS. WAM/SA
