Ali Mahdi
Muhammad, a member of the Somali presidential delegation in
New York, has told HornAfrik [Mogadishu-based TV and radio
station] that a new dawn has broken in the country.
Ali Mahdi,
who is also a member of the Transitional National Assembly,
called on faction leaders who boycotted the recently concluded
reconcialition conference in Arta town [Djibouti] to join
the new government.
"The government
is ready to hold dialogue with groups opposed to the results
of the Arta conference," said Ali Mahdi, specifically mentioning
Somaliland and Puntland.
Hasan
Muhammad Nur (Shargadud), who is also a member of the presidential
delegation, said they were warmly received in America.
Another
member of the presidential delegation, Isma'il Hurre Buba
urged Muhammad Ibrahim Egal [president of self-proclaimed
Somaliland Republic] to take part in the peace process that
had been initiated. .
