Khartoum (SUNA) 8th August 2002, By Banadir.com Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail met here Tuesday Somali Foreign Minister Yousif Hassan Ibrahim, who is visiting Sudan to brief the President of the Republic and current Chairman of IGAD, Gen. Omer Al-Bashir and Dr. Ismail, who is chairman of the Ministerial Council of IGAD, on the situations in Somalia and the outcome of his tour to a number of Arab countries.

The meeting discussed the ongoing preparations for holding the Conference of Nairobi on the Somali reconciliation under the patronage of Kenya and with the participation of Somalia's neighbouring countries and the steps made by the joint technical committee for preparing to the Conference. Dr. Ismail renewed Sudan's continuous commitment to support all efforts aiming at realizing peace in Somalia and maintaining its unity. IA/BT
