At least six people have been killed in battles between rival members of militias in Somalia. The clashes are over control of the port of Kismayo, almost 500 kilometres south of the capital Mogadishu.
The port generates a great deal of income for those who protect importers and exporters.
Four of those killed were civilians.
Somalia has been engaged in internal conflict since the overthrow of military ruler Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991.
