A group of 19 people travelling from Puntland to Djibouti
to take part in the national reconciliation talks were stopped
and deported by the Somaliland authorities, the Somaliland
newspaper 'Jamahuuriya' reported on Monday.
It quoted
a Somaliland official, named as Ali Muhammad Waran'ade, as
saying: "This is a sovereign state; no one is allowed to travel
through this country illegally.
Anyone
who enters this country illegally and is not a Somalilander
will be sent back.
"
There has been no independent confirmation of the deportations.
The UN
Security Council last week called on all Somali forces to
join the Djibouti talks and appealed to warlords and faction
leaders to desist from obstructing and undermining efforts
to achieve peace.
