The secretary general of the Arab league AL Amre Mousa yesterday in Cairo discussed with Somalia's foreign minister Youssef Hassan Ibrahim the current conditions on the Somali arena and the efforts exerted at the Arab and international levels to achieve reconciliation in Somalia.
Following the meeting, the Somali minister said he had discussed with the AL secretary general the developments concerning the Somali reconciliation conference currently held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, noting the care of the Arab League to support the efforts provided for the establishment of peace in Somalia.
He indicated that the Arab ministerial committee concerned with Somalia will hold a meeting on January 14 in, 2003 in Khartoum to discuss means of reactivating and supporting material Arab support for rebuilding Somalia.
Worthy mentioning that the Arab ministerial committee in charge of Somalia includes each of Syria, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Djibouti, Oman and the secretary general of the Arab League.
