The fifth ordinary session of the Cen -Sad summit resumed its activities in niamey, the capital of Niger, yesterday in the attendance of the following Leaders :-
-President Mohammed Tanja of Niger
-President Muammer Al-Qadafi of Libya
-President Omer Hassan el Bashir of Sudan
- President Idris Debi of Chad
- President Ange Felix Pattasse of Central African Republic
- President Mathiew Kreko of Benin
-President Abdel-kassim Salad Hassan of Somalia
- President Amado Tomani Toure of Mali
- President Gnasingbi Ayadema of Togo.
Furthermotre, the Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed al Ganoushi and the Moroccan Prime Minister Idris Jatto have also arrived in Niamey to paricpate in the session.
At the begining of the evening session Amara Issi the acting chairman of the African Union Commission made a speech in which he referred to the efforts exerted to support this summit and mentioned the practical co-operation between this gathering and the great African Union. He asserted that the Cen-Sad gathering, which was established by the Leader Muammar al -Qathafi is the basic foundation for building the great African Union.
President Tanja of Niger called on the Leaders of the cen sad gathering, to participate actively in solving the international issues that are currently stalling international peace and stability. He also called on the great African Union and the United Nations to contribute in solving the Iraqi crisis peacefully.
President Omar Hassan al -Bashir of the Republic of Sudan made a speech in which he said that this summit is convened during a complex time in international relations which needs resolutions enabling our people to confront the political, economic and social challenges. For the Iraqi crisis, he called for the application of international
legitimacy and asserted that the gatherings in the world should shoulder their responsibility and act through the UN to maintain international peace and security.
President AbdulKassim Salad Hassan of Somalia, a member of the presidential council of the Community of Sahel -Saharan States, made a speech in which he praised the efforts of the libyan Leader Muammar al -Qathafi in establishing the cen sad gathering and building the monument of the great African Union.
