The Djibouti
government has warned that the original budget for the Somali
peace conference it's been hosting since May has already been
spent.
It estimates
that between four and five million dollars has been spent
on the gathering, which aims to restore a central government
and end years of civil war in Somalia.
Djibouti's
finance minister, Yasin Elmi, said the money had been spent
on lodging and feeding an estimated two-thousand five hundred
delegates.
He said
Djibouti would welcome help from the United Nations and the
Arab League.
The conference,
which had been scheduled to end last month, has allocated
seats for a transitional parliament but some clan groups are
dissatified with the outcome and have threatened to leave
the talks.
