A series of attacks on a convoy of aid vehicles in Somalia in recent
days is now thought to have left around twenty people dead.
Some were killed
when the convoy was ambushed by militia, others when one of the
vehicles hit a landmine.
The victims
included security personnel accompanying the convoy and civilians
caught in crossfire.
The convoy,
which is under heavily-armed protection, has been trying to deliver
food aid donated by the US-based agency, Care International.
The food is
intended for the southern region of Bakol which has been affected
by famine.
